Google has launched its security program last year. After its launching, Google awarded this security reward program. According to various sources, Google has paid more than $550000 to more than 80 people for their individual discoveries for recovering flaws of the operating system of Google. News is rife that recently this tech giant has offered more money in security reward program. The tech giant is now offering more money for same type of work after June 1st, 2016. There were many reports filed on for failing on security issues. Google is offering around 33 to 55 percent more money this time for fixing those problems.
Last year the biggest hunter was rewarded with $75,750 for 26 vulnerability reports. Another 15 different individuals were awarded with $10,000 or more. The average of this money distribution was $2,200 per reward and $6,700 per researcher. Survey also says that the high quality reports those with concept eventually earn around 50 percent more money compared with those regular bugs.
These Bugs need to be found and fix on a regular basis in order to enhance the security level of Android. However, Google also encourages participants to outline these bugs outside the OS. Google announced that more than a quarter of these issues were reported in the Android Open source project (AOSP) and was effectively taken care of. The tech giant announces in its blog post. “Fixing these kernel and device driver bugs helps improve security of the broader mobile industry,”
Google is offering more money because that’s a great way allure enterprising hackers and developers to report the vulnerabilities on a regular basis.
