Partnership deal between Xiaomi and Microsoft, 1500 patents between the two Smartphone companies

Chinese Smartphone Company Xiaomi is apparently purchasing 1,500 technology patents from Microsoft. The famous deal was unveiled on May 31, worldwide. This deal will help Xiaomi securing patents regarding wireless communications, video, cloud technologies and multimedia. A spokesperson on behalf of Microsoft stated “This agreement reflects the deep respect Xiaomi and Microsoft have for intellectual property rights. The companies are committed to a healthy patent system and standing against the abusive practices we’ve seen at times in our industry.”

Xiaomi senior vice president stated that Xiaomi is looking for a sustainable and long term partnership with current global technological leaders. All Xioami Android devices like Mi 5, Mi Max, Mi 4s, Redmi Note 3 and Redmi 3, will be marketed with installed with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Skype applications from September 2016.

Xiaomi already had a successful partnership with Microsoft which allowed windows 10 on the Xiaomi Mi Pad and the use of Microsoft Azure. The company is hoping that partnership with Microsoft will strengthen to strategize how to meet the needs of joint customers. The expansion of previous partnership between two companies is also enticing as the Huanwei’s market of Smartphone is exceeding Microsoft. Microsoft also sold its feature phone assets to Foxcon Technology groups FIH Mobile LTD. That deal was of $350 million. That deal was connected to a 10 year permission concord that allows Nokia mobile phones, Smartphone and tablets to be marketed throughout the world by a newly constructed format.

Although Chinese Smartphone companies like Xiaomi, Huawei, Alcatel and ZTE, isn’t competing close to U.S. Smartphone companies .They are gearing up their market by expanding their expertises with Microsoft, Lenovo and others. Last year Xiaomi famously announced a huge partnership with Taiwan’s Foxconn in order to grab a big consumer deal in India by congregating phones to cut cost, simplifying distribution. Xiaomi secured a huge market India last year by doing this.
